Ibã Huni Kuin, also known as Isaías Sales, sings ancestral chants in an authorized record from Aldeia Chico Curumim in Acre, Brazil.
Context and meaning.
Ibã Huni Kuin, also known as Isaías Sales, is a teacher, researcher and txana, a master of his people’s chants. His work helps strengthen the Hãtxa Kuin language, huni meka and knowledge passed from one generation to the next.
The video was recorded with authorization at Aldeia Chico Curumim, in the Kaxinawá Indigenous Territory of the Jordão River, Acre. Bruno Luz and Michael Pereira visited the community between late 2024 and early 2025.
